Every year the National Retail Federation gives people a view into what may be the hot party outfit for Halloween.. What kids may be appearing at your door wearing.. What skimpy outfits could be the prized apparel in the 20-30 demo ..
Here is this year’s breakdown:
Among the children:
Animal (Cat, Dog, Lion, Monkey, etc.)
Star Wars Character
Tie: Witch AND DC Superhero (excl. Batman)
Frozen Character (Anna, Elsa, Olaf)
Marvel Superhero (excl. Spiderman)

20 – 35 crowd (sadly this is the first year I am NOT going to be in this age demographic:
Batman Character (Batman, Harley Quinn, The Joker, etc.) — most likely the very sexy version ..
Witch – the sexy version..
Animal (Cat, Dog, Bunny, etc.) — innocent costumes objectified
Tie: Marvel Superhero (Deadpool, Spiderman, etc.) AND DC Superhero (Wonder Woman, Superman, excl. Batman)
Video Game Character … Not sure what one they mean
Slasher Movie Villain (Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, etc.).. There is even a ‘sexy Freddy’ for the ladies..
Star Wars Character — which one? The NRF didn’t specify.

And now for my age group (ugh to say that) .. The 35+ crowd ..
Political (Trump, Clinton, etc.) .. The Trump mask is a very good likeness. Quite honestly I haven’t even seen the Hillary for sale in too many places..
Batman Character (Batman, Catwoman, etc.)
Animal (Cat, Dog, Bunny, etc.)
Tie: DC Superhero (Superman, Wonder Woman, excl. Batman) and Star Wars Character
Tie: Ghost and Zombies
Marvel Superhero (Iron Man, Hulk, Spiderman, etc.)

The amazing thing about this list is how unoriginal it is.. Besides the Deadpool costume and Harley Quinn, not too many seem inspired .. They seem the same … The dull.. The lifeless…
Zombies will reign. Vampires as well.. They are the staples of a good Halloween.
But where are the robots!? Where are the machines! The aliens!? …
