DOES THIS SCREAM MASK SPEAK LOUDER?

horror movie pop culture

The new SCREAM mask revealed..

Wes Craven told Entertainment WEEKLY–the magazine that got the selfie–“The new mask is cool and scary and takes the series into a new direction”.. SCREAM will premiere on MTV on June 30..
The mask takes the series in a new direction, you can tell..

The importance of masks is evident.. there is endless debate what Micheal Myers mask was the best.. about which FREDDY movie featured the best makeup.. about the coolest JASON hockey mask.

And now this: The debate among the fans will be which mask symbolizes fear.. more from EW: “The [original] mask is so iconic. If you were to have that mask in a television series, but you weren’t following any of the characters [from the original], I believe that would be misleading the audience,” exec producer Jaime Paglia told EW.

I guess I can see where they’re coming from. I’ve been waiting for a slasher series for years though, so whatever the mask, I hope it’s good!

Hopefully mtv’s involvement doesn’t ruin the chances of it being decent..
The over focus on the mask makes me concerned

Yeah, and the fact that it’s MTV means there’ll be loads of crap all over the screen too. Current track playing, what’s on next. tweet this if etc. Still, the closest thing to a slasher series I can remember is Harper’s Island, which wasn’t too bad.

Absolutely.. perhaps the most offensive thing is the banners and pop ups running all over the screen along with the hash tags and tweet this wording. I sometimes just want to watch a show without my mental intelligence bring trashed .. MTV. ..

Yep. Even though it’s clearly teeny bopper horror, I was going to watch Eye Candy until I saw all the junk plastered to the screen. It was hard to tell what was meant to be texting as part of the story and what was advertising.
